The ground rules for playing Block Hop. Plain-language, but binding when you use the app.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the developer of Block Hop ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or playing Block Hop, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Block Hop is a free, single-player mobile game: hold to charge a jump, release to land on the next block, and try to beat your best score. There are no accounts, no multiplayer, and no in-app purchases — the app is supported entirely by ads (see Advertising).
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Block Hop on a device you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment. This license doesn't give you any ownership of the app, its code, or its assets.
When using Block Hop, you agree not to:
Block Hop displays ads served by Google AdMob, including interstitial ads and optional rewarded "revive" ads. Ads are provided by Google and third-party advertisers, not by us, and your interactions with them are subject to Google's own terms. See our Privacy Policy for what AdMob collects and how to manage ad personalization.
Block Hop's name, design, artwork, characters, sounds, and code are owned by the developer, except for the open-source components it's built on (see below). Nothing in these Terms transfers any of that ownership to you.
Block Hop is built with open-source software, including React, React Native, Expo, Three.js, and React Three Fiber, along with the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Each of these is licensed under its own terms, independent of this agreement.
Block Hop is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs — this is a small, independently-built game, not a commercially supported product.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Block Hop — including loss of data, such as your saved score or unlocked characters. Because Block Hop is free and stores your progress only on your own device, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to zero.
You can stop using Block Hop at any time by uninstalling it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Block Hop, in whole or in part, at any time, including by no longer updating it or removing it from app stores. Because there's no account to close, "termination" here just means the license above ends.
We may update these Terms as the app changes. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Block Hop after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where you reside, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the extent your local law doesn't otherwise require a different governing law.
